From July 13 to August 1, the Official Rio 2016 Olympic Poster Collection, featuring works by 13 artists, will be on display outside the Museum of Tomorrow, along its left side (west wing). The creations will be open to the public free of charge.
The works are the result of free interpretations of the Olympics by Alexandre Mancini, Antônio Dias, Beatriz Milhazes, Claudio Tozzi, Estúdio Preto e Branco, Gringo Cardia with Geleia da Rocinha, Gustavo Greco, Gustavo Pereira, Guto Lacaz, Juarez Machado, Kobra, Olga Amaral, and Rico Lins. After the Museum of Tomorrow, the works will move to the Deodoro Olympic Park.
Carla Camurati, Rio 2016's Culture Director and creator of the project with Gringo Cardia, says the artists were selected from different lists at museums such as MAM, Masp, and Inhotim.
Some artists were nominated. Others were chosen by Celebra, the Rio 2016 Committee's Culture program. There couldn't be a better place to inaugurate this exhibition than the Museum of Tomorrow.
