Innovation Lab

A platform for experimentation and collaboration dedicated to the convergence of knowledge.

Innovation is the human way of doing things.

Innovation is a profoundly human act. More than machines, algorithms, or data, the true power of technology lies in its ability to connect, care, and transform. When innovation is guided by this purpose, it ceases to be merely a tool and becomes a path to building more ethical, inclusive, and sustainable futures.

An app that enhances the autonomy of blind people, a low-cost 3D printer, an immersive museum experience—all these examples reveal what truly matters: the human impact behind each technological choice. Technology is a means, not an end. It is from this understanding that space opens up for critical, creative, and transformative practices, capable of inspiring new ways of living and imagining. Pierre Lévy, in *Cyberculture*, reminds us that technology is an extension of collective intelligence—a territory where minds meet to create and share. Innovation, therefore, is an expression of our networked humanity. It is in this flow of exchanges and connections that ideas emerge that shape the present and project the future. A future that is not predicted, but built. Inspired by this principle, the Laboratory acts as the area of experimentation, prototyping, and innovation for the Museu do Amanhã, presented by Itaú, our main sponsor.

Our laboratory is a living platform of convergence between art, science, and technology, articulating diverse knowledge to imagine plural futures. The mission is: to prototype a more sustainable and social tomorrow, using traditional and exponential technologies in a transdisciplinary way.

We believe in experimentation, convergence, and development as our guiding principles. Therefore, our projects delve into the effects and impacts of emerging technologies—such as artificial intelligence, robotics, biotechnology, 3D printing, and the Internet of Things—addressing contemporary themes that resonate with our times. Through these actions, the lab invites artists, researchers, startups, companies, and creatives to co-create solutions and experiences that broaden access to knowledge and stimulate critical thinking. With each prototype, study, or exhibition, the lab reaffirms its commitment to transforming spectators into creators—making innovation a practice of shared experience.

As the quilombola thinker Nego Bispo teaches, “there is no end — it is always beginning, middle, and beginning again.” To inhabit the world ethically is to recognize this continuity: to build bridges between humans, species, and technologies.

The Laboratory is, therefore, a space where art, science, and imagination intertwine to cultivate preferable futures—futures in which sustainability is coexistence, and innovation is care.
