PRIZE RULES
The following may register for this Competition:
- Undergraduate, Master's or Doctoral students in the areas of Exact, Biological, Applied Social or Human Sciences, who identify as female and who are enrolled in higher education institutions based in the Municipality of Rio de Janeiro.
The works will be evaluated by a committee of experts, carefully selected by the Museum of Tomorrow and the Secretariat of Science and Technology.
The main objectives of this competition are:
- a) foster academic debate on gender inequalities;
- b) disseminate the topic beyond university environments;
- c) promote the recognition of works of academic excellence produced by women and encourage their dissemination;
- d) raise relevant scientific contributions for society.

1 – Can post-doctorates or professors from Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) apply? A: No, the award is intended for students who are regularly enrolled in undergraduate and stricto-sensu postgraduate courses.
2 – Do authors and co-authors need to be regularly enrolled in a higher education institution? A: Yes, it is a mandatory requirement that authors and co-authors be regularly enrolled in a higher education institution.
3 – To compete for the award, do I need to be regularly enrolled in a higher education institution (HEI) based in the city of Rio de Janeiro? A: As the first author of the article, yes, you must be enrolled in a higher education institution (HEI) based in the city of Rio de Janeiro. However, to participate as a co-author, you can be enrolled in a higher education institution (HEI) based in another city or even in another state.
4 – Is it possible to participate as an author of two or more articles submitted to the call? A: No. The same student cannot be the author of two or more articles submitted to the call, whether as first author or as co-author.
5 – Can articles previously published in scientific journals compete for the Prize? A: No. Only unpublished scientific articles will be accepted.
6 – Can scientific articles written in English compete for the Prize? A: No, only scientific articles written in Portuguese will be accepted.
