Sparking students' love of science is one of the greatest rewards for elementary school teachers. But it's no easy task. How can you transform a simple lesson into a vibrant educational experience? Inspira Ciência is the right training program for teachers seeking answers to this question.
Held by the Museum of Tomorrow and the British Council, with the sponsorship of IBM, Registration for the second edition of the program is open to all elementary school teachers. Those selected will explore fundamental science topics alongside experts from diverse fields, experiment with new educational approaches and technologies, and develop creative and innovative lesson plans.
Organized in a cycle of four meetings on May 11th, May 25th, June 8th and June 29th, from 9am to 5pm, the second edition of Inspira Ciência combines theory and practice in an interdisciplinary perspective.
Experts will cover topics ranging from the origin of the Universe, the Solar System, and Earth, to the origin of life and evolution, to the expansion of the human species across the planet and the diversity of contemporary cultures. Furthermore, practical experiences to address these topics with students will also be the subject of workshops, including the construction of unconventional microscopes, boat exploration of Guanabara Bay, and more.
Participants will also develop lesson plans, visit the Museum of Tomorrow exhibitions, and explore strategies to foster skills with British Council professionals.
