The Museum of Tomorrow and the Ling Institute have just launched the free training project Art of Tomorrow, focused on art and technology. It is run by the Laboratory of Activities of Tomorrow — LAA, whose activities are sponsored by Santander.
The learning cycle will consist of an online phase and an in-person phase. The first phase, for which registration has just opened, consists of a Cycle of Investigative Encounters, which will include six thematic modules, bringing together 20 relevant creative professionals from different areas of the arts scene, between April 10th and May 18th. Inaugurating the program will be an opening meeting led by the project curator, visual artist Batman Zavareze, on April 5th. Among the topics covered in the program are Music and Sound Narratives, Performing Arts, Audiovisual, Visual Arts, Design, and New Media.
The proposal aims to stimulate organic exchanges between the participating public and the artists, who will act as true provocateurs. At the end of the online phase, participants who have completed at least two modules of the Investigative Encounters Cycle will be able to register for the selection process for the in-person residency, which will take place at the Laboratory of Activities of Tomorrow in Rio de Janeiro, between July 17th and 30th. The objective of the residency is to provide a practical creative experience at the intersection of art and technology, as well as to provide more tools and encouragement for the production of an experience, activity, or prototype that puts into practice what was learned during the training. The Laboratory of Activities of Tomorrow and the Ling Institute will form a committee that will select four projects to participate in the Residency.
