Created in 2017, Entre Museus is a social and cultural mobilization project that develops educational activities aimed at students and teachers from schools and social organizations, especially in the port area of Rio de Janeiro, near the Museu do Amanhã. The initiative includes a program of guided visits to the Museu do Amanhã, in conjunction with 17 museums in the city, strengthening educational networks and pathways throughout the city. To this end, this call seeks to select 17 schools to participate in the project in 2026. The Entre Museus project is sponsored by TAG.
1. Object
The Museu do Amanhã is a science museum that investigates the opportunities and challenges that humanity will face in the coming decades from the perspectives of sustainability and coexistence. Opened in December 2015 by the Rio de Janeiro City Hall, it is a cultural facility of the Municipal Secretariat of Culture, operating under the management of the Institute for Development and Management (IDG).
The Museu do Amanhã Education Program aims to promote various actions and projects that spark the curiosity of its audiences regarding the themes and narratives related to the Museum's curatorial focus. These activities include guided tours, educational programs, seminars, workshops, courses, and specific educational projects that delve deeper into the content with the support of researchers, educators, artists, scientists, and other specialists. This strategy seeks to encompass the museum's diverse audiences through a variety of experiences and in-depth scientific content, guided by the principle: sustainability is coexistence.
In 2026, the Entre Museus (Between Museums) project invites public schools to immerse themselves in Guanabara Bay as a living territory of learning, memory, and collective imagination. Aligned with the curatorial line of the Museu do Amanhã, the project proposes reflecting on the city from the perspective of the waters that cross, connect, and transform it.
This year, focusing on the theme of Guanabara Bay, the project will include, in addition to public schools in the port area, schools in the metropolitan region of Rio de Janeiro, especially those located only in areas surrounding the bay and which have it as a theme in curricular or extracurricular projects.
2. Who can participate:
Public schools located within a 50km radius of the Museu do Amanhã.
How to participate: Registration must be done by a teacher who will be responsible for the communication between the school and the museum. It is recommended that this person be part of the class that will be visiting the museums and accompany them on both days of the visit. Registration is done through a form, briefly sharing the projects already developed or their territorial relationship with Guanabara Bay, whether pedagogical, cultural, environmental or community-based.
If the Bay is part of the daily life, practices, or imaginations of your school, this invitation is for you. Let's navigate together through stories, waters, and connections that make Rio an archipelago of experiences.
