Entre Museus unfolds through a series of initiatives designed specifically for students and teachers from schools and social organizations in Rio's port region—our neighbors. One of our challenges is to provide more democratic access to our neighborhood residents, especially the children and youth of the port region, contributing to the expansion of their knowledge and potential. Our main objective is to empower and include the local population in cultural enjoyment, encouraging them to explore the worlds of science, arts, and culture, and thus build and expand pathways to full citizenship. We also aim to monitor and participate in the region's social development, inviting residents to be protagonists of these initiatives and to recognize themselves as agents of change in their community.
The project includes a program of guided tours of the Museum of Tomorrow, in conjunction with more than 20 museums in and around the city. In addition to the tours, the project carries out complementary activities aimed at strengthening ties between schools, museums, and local cultural spaces. Above all, it introduces the city and its history through each route.
These activities involve organizing meetings between museum educators, where they exchange ideas and develop content for visits; facilitating access to museum content for schools through periodic visits and information exchanges; and jointly organizing a major seminar in partnership with the municipality, through the Municipal Department of Education, the Brazilian Institute of Museums (IBRAM), and partner museums, showcasing museums as powerful educational tools, aimed at teachers and those involved in education. Furthermore, a major museum and school fair was held, showcasing the exchange of experiences throughout the process to the general public.
