UNESCO Chair

The UNESCO Chair in Planetary Well-being and Regenerative Anticipation, within the field of Futures Literacy, is the result of a partnership between the Museum of Tomorrow and the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. The UNESCO Futures Literacy Project represents an ongoing effort to engage and empower people in transforming human governance toward more desirable and inclusive models that value biological and cultural diversity. As the first UNESCO Chair to be based in a museum, it stands out for its access to and engagement with a broad and diverse audience. The Chair's central objective is to establish Futures Literacy as a core competency for the 21st century, fostering a deeper understanding of the role of the future in present-day actions.
